PML-N Lawmaker Booked Under PECA Over Harassment Allegations
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) against a Punjab Assembly lawmaker following allegations of cyber harassment, blackmail and threats made against actor and model Momina Iqbal.
According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that she was subjected to harassment, intimidation and blackmail after rejecting a marriage proposal. The case also includes allegations of unlawful surveillance, threatening messages and attempts to share private material.
Investigators claim that threatening communications were sent to the actor, her husband and other family members. Digital evidence, including videos and mobile devices, has been taken into custody and sent for forensic examination.
The FIR further states that the accused allegedly attempted to pressure the actor through repeated threats and false accusations. Authorities are continuing their investigation and examining the available digital evidence.
The matter gained public attention during the actor’s wedding preparations, and legal proceedings are now underway following the registration of the case.
