VANCOUVER, CANADA — Canadian football entered a new era on a historic night at BC Place as Team Canada produced one of the greatest performances in the nation’s sporting history, defeating Qatar 6–0 in a commanding FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage victory.

A decisive moment arrived in the 31st minute when Tajon Buchanan broke forward and was brought down by Qatar defender Homam Ahmed, resulting in a red card and reducing Qatar to 10 men.
Canada took complete control. Nathan Saliba added another goal while continued pressure forced an own goal, turning the match into a statement performance for the host nation.
David completed his unforgettable hat-trick and later reflected on his response to criticism with a simple message: “It’s a striker’s life.”
