U.S. President Donald Trump is believed to have strong potential to promote peace globally, which may be why Israel, despite being an ally, is reportedly being kept away from peace negotiations, while Pakistan is playing a mediating role in what is being described as a historic agreement.

The prospects for a final ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran have reportedly become stronger. According to informed sources, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at ending the ongoing conflict between the two countries is said to be close to completion. However, differences over the contents of the agreement still appear to remain.

Pakistan, which has reportedly been acting as a mediator in this peace process for weeks, announced that the final draft of the peace agreement between both sides has now been prepared.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed in a statement posted on social media platform X that Pakistan is now working with both parties to finalize the next stages.

According to allegedly leaked conditions from Western and Iranian sources, the proposed terms appear favorable to Iran. U.S. President Donald Trump strongly rejected those reports and stated that the conditions leaked to the media by Iran do not reflect the actual written terms under discussion. On his platform Truth Social, Trump described Iranian officials as “dishonest people.”

Shortly afterward, however, Trump also reposted a statement by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in which Araghchi said that the ceasefire agreement was at its closest stage yet and urged people to avoid speculation until it is finalized.

According to Reuters, the leaked draft suggests that in exchange for Iran reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which was reportedly closed following the February attacks, the United States would restore billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets and remove restrictions on Iranian oil exports. Longstanding demands regarding limitations on Iran’s missile program have reportedly been set aside for now, and discussions may also include compensation for war-related damages.

On the other hand, the U.S. administration has described the arrangement as a “performance-based agreement.” U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that Iran would not receive cash simply upon signing; economic benefits would only follow once Iran fulfills its obligations. U.S. officials also claim that Iran’s uranium stockpile and nuclear program would be dismantled.

Despite being a U.S. ally in the conflict, Israel has reportedly remained outside these negotiations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his country would not be part of the agreement. Recent disagreements have also reportedly emerged between Netanyahu and Trump over U.S. pressure on Israel to reduce military actions in Lebanon in order to advance talks with Tehran.

It is also being suggested that President Donald Trump has significant potential to contribute to global peace efforts, while Pakistan continues to play a mediating role in what could become a historic agreement.
