Important Meeting Between Punjab’s Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain and Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade Vic Fedeli in Toronto
Agreement to Further Strengthen Bilateral Trade, Investment and Business Relations Between Punjab and Ontario — Invitation for a Visit to Lahore, Ontario Minister Assures Early Visit to Lahore

An important meeting was held in Toronto between Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, and Ontario’s Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, Vic Fedeli, during which detailed discussions were held on promoting trade, investment, modern technology and business partnerships between Punjab and Ontario.
During the meeting, it was agreed to further strengthen economic relations between Punjab and Ontario and promote business-to-business relations between the business communities of both provinces. Joint efforts will also be made to facilitate the exchange of modern technology and explore new investment opportunities.
Chaudhry Shafay Hussain said that Punjab and Ontario can undertake extensive cooperation in the fields of agri-food, agri-tech, value addition and supply chain management. He said that there are immediate and effective opportunities to enhance economic cooperation between the two provinces in several sectors, including dairy, livestock, poultry, energy and Himalayan pink salt.
The Provincial Minister said that economic relations between Pakistan and Canada have increased in recent years, which can be further expanded through direct trade and investment relations between Punjab and Ontario.
Punjab Board of Investment and Trade and Ravi Urban Development Authority Board Member Ahmed Ali Tariq, along with the official delegation, was also present at the meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain extended a special invitation to Ontario Minister Vic Fedeli to visit Lahore. The Ontario Minister accepted the invitation and agreed to visit Lahore soon.
The meeting between Punjab and Ontario is being regarded as an important step toward opening new avenues for trade, investment and economic partnership between Pakistan and Canada.
