PTI Considers Quitting Assemblies Over Political Space Concerns

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering stepping down from legislative bodies, citing what it describes as a lack of political space for the opposition.

A senior party leader said the proposal is under discussion and will be reviewed in detail during an upcoming meeting of the party’s political committee. He claimed that several PTI leaders were prevented from participating in election activities in Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the upcoming polls.

According to party officials, the discussion on resignations stems from concerns over political restrictions and the party’s ability to operate freely within the current system.

The development follows recent remarks by other senior PTI leaders, who warned that the party could consider exiting the political process if its concerns regarding political participation and electoral representation are not addressed.

While no final decision has been made, party leaders say various options remain under consideration as internal consultations continue.
