Canada (Press Release): Officials of the Brampton Super League (BSL), Tariq Pervez (Founder) and Faisal Moledina (Director), have called on Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown to take immediate and decisive action against Muhammad Shoaib.
They demanded that Muhammad Shoaib be removed immediately from the position of Business Ambassador for Tourism, and that all City of Brampton ground permits issued to any organization associated with Muhammad Shoaib be cancelled without delay.
These demands follow serious allegations against Muhammad Shoaib, including forgery, favoritism, embezzlement of funds, and abuse of authority.
Tariq Pervez and Faisal Moledina stated: Our objective is not to create sensationalism, but to ensure accountability. Cricket, like any institution, must be governed with transparency and integrity. When serious concerns arise, they must be addressed—not ignored.
Abuse of Authority and Erosion of Public Trust
They alleged that Muhammad Shoaib misused both the position of Business Ambassador for Tourism granted by Mayor Patrick Brown and his role as a Director of the Brampton Super League, raising serious questions about the credibility and reputation of Brampton City Council.
According to the officials, Muhammad Shoaib repeatedly presented himself as a representative of Brampton City Council and created the impression that all authority rested solely with him.
Unlawful Removal of Directors
During a press conference held yesterday, BSL Founder Tariq Pervez and Director Faisal Moledina informed the media that Muhammad Shoaib removed them from their positions without convening any lawful meeting and appointed his wife, as a director.
They stated that Muhammad Shoaib ran BSL not as a structured organization but like a WhatsApp group, making arbitrary appointments and dismissals at will. They added that evidence supporting these allegations has already been made public.
Call for an Independent Investigation
BSL Director Faisal Moledina said: We demand a fair, impartial, and independent investigation by Mayor Patrick Brown and Brampton City Council. Players, teams, sponsors, and the wider community deserve clarity, answers, and responsible leadership.
Legal Notice and Corporate Governance Issues
The organizers confirmed that a legal notice has been served on Muhammad Shoaib through legal counsel, objecting to the unauthorized removal of directors, improper filings, and misuse of corporate funds of the Brampton Super League (the “Corporation”).
The notice clarifies that the Corporation is a federal not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation, governed by the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (CNCA), and operates in accordance with its Articles and By-laws. The Corporation has no shares, and all authority flows only from properly convened member meetings and lawful board resolutions.
Demand for Repayment of Funds
Faisal Moledina stated that Muhammad Shoaib has been formally required to repay the full amount of disputed funds totaling CAD $39,181 by 5:00 p.m. on February 12, 2026, or alternatively submit a written repayment plan supported by legal authorization for each disputed transaction.
Tariq Pervez added that Muhammad Shoaib has also been demanded to immediately return all corporate property of BSL in his possession, custody, or control.
Ground Permits and Team Requests
Tariq Pervez and Faisal Moledina further stated that they have also appealed to Mayor Patrick Brown through legal counsel to immediately cancel all City of Brampton grounds allocated to organizations associated with Muhammad Shoaib.
They added that more than 24 cricket teams have formally demanded that City of Brampton grounds for the 2026 cricket season be allocated to them.
Offer to Respond and Public Challenge
At the event, mediation committee member Yusuf German stated that he had personally invited Muhammad Shoaib to attend the press conference and present his position before the media regarding the allegations. Muhammad Shoaib declined the invitation.
Yusuf German further stated that despite repeated efforts to resolve the matter amicably, Muhammad Shoaib refused to cooperate, even after giving assurances that the issues would be addressed.
Closing Statement
Concluding the press conference, Faisal Moledina issued an open challenge:
Muhammad Shoaib may come forward on any media outlet or platform to debate us. We are prepared to face him anywhere. This is not the final press conference—this is only the beginning. In the coming days, more critical documents will be made public, and legal action will intensify.
