Canada Ottawa (Mehboob Shaikh) — High Commissioner of Pakistan to Canada, Muhammad Saleem, held a meeting with Mr. Craig Ceppetelli, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), during his visit to the institution in Ottawa.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for cooperation between Pakistan and Canada in the healthcare sector, particularly in professional training and capacity building. Both sides discussed collaboration in postgraduate medical education, accreditation standards, and specialist training programs.
The possibility of establishing institutional linkages between the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and its counterpart in Pakistan, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP), was also discussed.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem informed his Canadian counterpart about the upcoming International Medical Education Conference scheduled to be held in Karachi, Pakistan, in February 2026, and invited participation from Canadian institutions.
The discussions reflected the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening healthcare education and enhancing professional exchanges for mutual benefit.
