Pakistan secured a commanding 128-run victory over Bangladesh in the rain-affected second ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, thanks to a standout all-round performance from Maaz Sadaqat.
Chasing a revised target of 243 in 32 overs after a two-hour rain and hail delay, Bangladesh were bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs. Litton Das attempted a counterattack, scoring 41, but wickets fell at regular intervals, leaving the hosts struggling throughout. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Maaz Sadaqat shared the spoils, with Sadaqat taking three wickets, including Litton, and Rauf claiming three as well.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 274 in 47.3 overs, propelled by a blistering 75 from Sadaqat off 46 balls, featuring six fours and five sixes. Sahibzada Farhan contributed 31 in a rapid opening stand, while Salman Agha top-scored with 64 and added 109 runs with Mohammad Rizwan (44) before being run out in a dramatic dismissal. Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain took 3 for 56 but could not restrict Pakistan’s total, which proved decisive on the rain-shortened night.
With this win, Pakistan has levelled the three-match series 1-1, setting up a series-deciding final match on Sunday.
