Pakistan and China have called for an immediate ceasefire and the start of peace talks to end the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has continued for over a month and impacted the wider Middle East.
During high-level talks in Beijing, both sides stressed the need to prevent further escalation, ensure humanitarian access to affected areas, and resolve tensions through dialogue and diplomacy. They emphasised that respecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security is essential for lasting peace.
The two countries also urged all parties to avoid targeting civilians, non-military sites, and critical infrastructure, including energy and nuclear facilities, while adhering to international humanitarian law.
Highlighting the importance of the Strait of Hormuz as a key global trade route, they called for the protection of vessels and crews and the restoration of safe and normal shipping operations.
Both nations supported strengthening multilateral cooperation and called for efforts to establish a comprehensive peace framework to ensure long-term stability in the region.
In addition to regional issues, discussions also focused on enhancing bilateral ties, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening economic and strategic cooperation and maintaining close coordination on international platforms.
