The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in Karachi have been postponed and will now begin on April 10, 2026, according to the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK).

The decision comes after concerns raised by private school representatives over incomplete exam arrangements, including delays in finalising centres, issuing admit cards, and distributing exam materials.

In its statement, the board said it is shifting from a manual to a digital system, which has caused temporary technical issues due to an overloaded software application. Officials added that efforts are underway to resolve the problem and ensure smooth conduct of examinations.

The BSEK said a revised timetable will be issued soon and confirmed that students will appear for exams at previously assigned centres.

The board maintained that preparations were largely complete, adding that admit cards had already been uploaded online and sent to private candidates. The board office also remained open to assist students who had not yet received their documents.
