Lahore: Lahore Qalandars started their title defence with a convincing 69-run victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the opening match of the Pakistan Super League at Gaddafi Stadium.
Chasing a challenging 200-run target, the Kingsmen struggled throughout their innings and were bowled out for 130 in 20 overs. Their batting lineup failed to build momentum, with only a few players reaching double figures.
Earlier, the Qalandars posted 199/6 after being put into bat. A strong opening partnership laid the foundation, highlighted by a fluent half-century from Fakhar Zaman.
The hosts maintained pressure with a disciplined bowling performance, taking wickets at regular intervals to seal a comfortable win.
The result marks a strong start for the defending champions as the tournament gets underway.
