ISLAMABAD — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for showing solidarity with Iran amid ongoing US and Israeli attacks. Posting on X in Urdu, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity with resilience and determination.
He thanked the Pakistani government and people for their support, noting that the unity extended by Pakistan reflects strong backing against foreign aggression.
The statement comes as tensions in the Middle East escalate following US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28, prompting Tehran to retaliate against US bases in the Gulf region, including in Saudi Arabia. Explosions were reported in Tehran on Monday, with air defense systems activated, though the exact targets remain unclear.
Pakistan has offered to facilitate talks between Tehran and Washington, supporting Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy while stressing that it will avoid being drawn into a wider regional conflict.
