Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has clarified that he has no connection to an ongoing financial investigation involving his sister, Dr Fazeela Abbasi, stating that he is not part of the case and is not under any inquiry.
In a statement shared on social media, the actor said recent media reports had wrongly suggested his involvement in a money laundering case being investigated by authorities. He stressed that he is not under investigation by any agency.
Abbasi described his sister as a highly accomplished professional and said he stands by her with support, while emphasising that her legal matters are separate from his own.
He further stated that, as he is not a party to the case, he should not be expected to comment on the proceedings. Calling the matter sub judice, he said it is up to his sister to decide whether to publicly respond.
The actor also warned against linking his name to the case in future reporting, saying he may pursue legal action if such associations continue.
The case involving Dr Fazeela Abbasi relates to alleged financial irregularities being investigated by authorities, with proceedings reportedly ongoing.
