A high-profile gathering in Canada has underscored growing momentum in Canada, Pakistan relations, as the Canada Pakistan Business Council hosted a landmark Eid Milan evening bringing together political leaders, diplomats, and business figures committed to deepening bilateral cooperation.
The event, marked by strong participation and forward-looking dialogue, served as more than a cultural celebration—it became a strategic platform to strengthen economic and institutional ties between the two countries. Attendees included newly appointed CPBC board members, corporate sponsors, and distinguished award recipients whose contributions continue to shape cross-border business and cultural engagement.
Proceedings opened with the national anthems of Canada and Pakistan, setting a tone of unity and shared purpose. CPBC President Samir Dossal welcomed guests with a message centered on optimism and growth. Highlighting outcomes from his recent visit to Pakistan, Dossal pointed to expanding opportunities, renewed partnerships, and a deepening commitment to economic collaboration between the two nations.
Delivering the keynote address, Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Honourable Tim Hodgson, emphasized the critical role of international partnerships in driving economic resilience. Referencing recent global engagements led by Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, he outlined key trade agreements and policy initiatives designed to strengthen Canada’s economic outlook. Hodgson stressed that collaboration, innovation, and inclusive growth remain central to unlocking new opportunities and enhancing diplomatic relations.
The evening drew strong representation from across Canada’s political and diplomatic landscape. Among those addressing the gathering were Members of Parliament Helena Jaczek and Sameer Zuberi, Senator Salma Ataullahjan, Pakistan’s Trade Commissioner in Toronto Altamash Janjua, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Turkish Airlines Country Manager Fatih Temil,
