He congratulated Director Faisal Moledina and the organizers on the successful organization of the Brampton Cricket Championship, saying that competitions at the local level play an important role in promoting cricket and providing opportunities for young players to move forward.

On the occasion, Ontario Provincial Member of Parliament Deepak Anand said that Canada has immense cricketing talent. According to him, young people from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, the Caribbean, Bangladesh and other cricket-playing countries are living in Canada who know how to play cricket at a high level.

He said that if cricket activities continue at the local level in the same way and young players are provided with appropriate opportunities and facilities, Canada can develop a strong cricket team.

Brampton Cricket Championship Director Faisal Moledina  presented the winning team with a cheque for 5,000 Canadian dollars and a trophy.

Faisal Moledina said that the scope of competitions would be further expanded to promote cricket at every level in Canada. According to him, cricket tournaments will be organized in the future for players of different age groups, including Under-19, Under-40, Under-50 and seniors, so that cricket lovers of all ages can have the opportunity to showcase their skills on the field.

Progress toward the new indoor cricket dome and international-standard cricket ground in Brampton is being described as an important step in the growing popularity of cricket in Canada and the expansion of sports infrastructure at the local level.
