KARACHI: A 13-year-old boy died after contracting rabies despite receiving vaccination following a dog bite, raising concerns over the effectiveness of treatment and post-exposure care.
The teenager had been bitten by a stray dog around three months earlier and reportedly completed the recommended vaccination course. He was admitted to a hospital after developing symptoms including fever, seizures, and hydrophobia.
Despite medical treatment, the boy passed away shortly after being admitted. Health authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
