The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in Karachi on April 6 due to incoming westerly weather systems.
According to the Met Office, the weather system entering Balochistan from Iran on April 5 is expected to affect several parts of Sindh, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and isolated hail in multiple districts, including Sukkur, Ghotki, and Kashmore.
Authorities have warned that strong winds, lightning, and possible hail may damage weak infrastructure such as billboards, electric poles, and solar panels. Farmers have also been advised to take precautionary measures to protect crops.
The alert follows recent heavy rainfall in Karachi that caused flooding, traffic disruptions, and multiple rain-related fatalities. Several deaths were reported due to electrocution and structural collapses during the earlier spell of rain.
Officials have urged citizens to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
