Pakistan’s emerging squash player Muhammad Asim Khan has won the World Championship Qualifying Event–Asia title in Hong Kong after a hard-fought final against Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah.
In a closely contested five-game final lasting 82 minutes, Asim Khan secured a narrow 3-2 victory to claim the title and book his place in the PSA World Championships 2026, scheduled to be held in Giza from May 8 to 16.
Asim made a strong start by taking the first two games, but his opponent staged a comeback to level the match and force a deciding game. The Pakistani player held his nerve in the final game, sealing the win in a tense finish.
With this victory, Asim joins fellow Pakistani players in qualifying for the prestigious global event. His earlier wins in the tournament included a straight-game victory in the opening round followed by two consecutive five-game battles in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
