Islamabad: The federal and provincial governments have agreed to introduce a mobile application-based quota system to provide subsidised fuel to users of two- and three-wheelers, aiming to support low-income groups and reduce misuse of public funds.

The decision was made during a high-level consultative meeting on petroleum matters, where officials emphasized the need for a targeted subsidy framework using technology. Authorities also stressed coordination between federal and provincial governments to ensure effective implementation.

Participants highlighted the importance of promoting responsible fuel consumption while maintaining financial discipline and maximising public relief.

Officials were informed that the country’s fuel supply remains stable, with sufficient availability of petroleum products nationwide.
